Or as we like to call him, Old Man Velvet Belly:

Joe the wonder cat, stretched out looking toward the camera
I’m so awesome…

He is the most spoilt and loved cat in the world.

He’s around 14 years old and a suspected Maine Coon who hates other cats, loves eating grass and is a big cuddle monster. In the spring of 2017, he was diagnosed with cancer. Well, ‘cancers’ actually because fighting only one of them would have been way too easy.

As of today, he is fine and in remission; sleeping, eating, drinking, pooing, weeing, barking at pigeons, chasing squirrels, purring, getting cuddles, etc all as usual. We don’t know how long he has or when the bad stuff will kick back in, but chemotherapy has given him a new lease for life. Obviously, he is the most spoilt and loved cat in the world.

Two years ago, I started to write about his journey to help me to accept what was happening to him and to help clarify the medical processes in my mind. Plus, I loved the opportunity to have a rummage around all his old photos.

Thus starts a series of stories on how the war within Joe progressed and why he truly is, in fact, so awesome.
